From Stillwater-Ponca City (OK) Ostomy Outlook June 2002:

ACTION NEEDED:
Ask CMS not to change Medicare Ostomy Reimbursement AGAIN

by Linda Aukett, Chair, UOA Government Affairs Committee, May 23, 2002

It is hard to believe, but the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) are considering another round of changes, which would seriously threaten the improvements in reimbursement for ostomy supplies that just went into effect on April 1st.

Please see the full explanation on the UOA Advocacy page at www.uoa.org/advocacy, and please send a letter to your Members of Congress (Senators and Representative) to ask for their support of the present system. A copy of the letter will automatically go to the Administrator of CMS (if you use the Advocacy page's email mechanism).

It is vital that we use our collective voice to preserve the improved benefits for which the association has worked so hard. A letter from you today will be greatly appreciated, and may be just the one additional voice that will convince CMS they should not make any further changes.

Thanks so much!
UOA Government Affairs Committee
